How Do You Contribute to Our Brand Promise?

Did you know that each one of us contribute to the Brand Promise? Here are a few examples of how you can protect, reinforce and enhance the Brand Promise each day.

Protect it. When we talk about protecting our Brand, it means that you will respond appropriately in a negative circumstance or crisis. Marriott expects you to live out the principles in the business conduct guide and if you see any opposing material that you take action and to raise the issue with your manager.

Reinforce it. You are reinforcing the Brand when you are proactive and follow through on your service commitments to our Owners. Remember that a Brand Promise is consistent actions and behaviors. To be consistent, there are a few questions you could ask yourself; is this fair to the Owner, is this decision consistent with the Brand, and am I proud of this? Be mindful of your own personal social media and the content that you share. It should reinforce the Brand Promise.

Enhance it. We always strive to be the best, and our Owners have come to expect that. To enhance the Brand Promise, we want to meet and exceed those expectations. We want to encourage excitement, and help create interest and anticipation for our Owners and their vacations.

It is expected, as you continue on your career with Marriott, that you uphold the standards of the Brand Promise. To quote Steve Weisz, “Even if the issue seems small, never compromise our values.”
