South Lake Tahoe is an exciting resort destination, located on the border of northern California and Nevada, west of Carson City. We have two amazing locations in South Lake Tahoe, Marriott's Timber Lodge and the Marriott Grand Residence Club®, Lake Tahoe. Both resorts are available to our Legacy and Destinations Points Owners.
While Lake Tahoe is a little out of the way, Owners should have little trouble reaching our resorts. From Reno International Airport, the drive time is about 1 hour and 15 minutes. If your Owner is coming in from the California side, the drive from Sacramento International Airport is about 2 hours.
Marriott's Timber Lodge and Marriott Grand Residence Club®, Lake Tahoe are located in Heavenly Village, South Lake Tahoe's premier shopping and entertainment center. South Lake Tahoe is also renowned for the Heavenly Mountain Resort, with a gondola in Heavenly Village that brings Owners and guests right up the mountain into Heavenly Resort.

In the summer, Lake Tahoe features watersports such as boating, fishing, SCUBA diving, kayaking, water skiing, and jet skiing. The mountain terrain makes Lake Tahoe a destination for nature trails, biking, and hiking. Of course, you can always just walk down to the shore to enjoy a day on the beach.
With winter comes South Lake Tahoe's snow sporting season. With cross-country and downhill skiing, snowboarding, and snowmobiling at Heavenly Mountain Resort, and ice skating in Heavenly Village, your Owners will enjoy winter sports available right from their doorstep.
South Lake Tahoe is divided by the California/Nevada Border, and while our resorts are on the California side, it is only a short walk away from South Lake Tahoe's casinos and entertainment on the Nevada side of town.
Marriott's Timber Lodge offers Owners one, two, and three bedroom villas, each with all of the amenities Owners have come to expect from Marriott Vacation Club. Full kitchens, living and dining areas, and lock-off options for two and three bedroom Owners will provide your Owner room to relax.
Timber Lodge also features an activity center with The Club House (children), The Den (teens), and The Retreat (adults) to keep the whole family engaged. With a fitness center, heated swimming pool, splash pad, whirlpool spas, two fire pits, barbecue grills, and the Marketplace Express, Owners won't want for anything. The FiRE + iCE restaurant is on-site and ready to serve the best dinner in South Lake Tahoe.
Across the way, Marriott Grand Residence Club®, Lake Tahoe is ready to impress. With a variety of room types and configurations from one to three bedroom residences, Owners will be relaxing in roomy, elegantly decorated luxury.
The Grand Residence Club®, Lake Tahoe features its own fitness center, heated swimming pool, whirlpool spa, sauna and steam room, as well as its own onsite spa offering massage and facial treatments, so you won't need to leave the resort to feel both pampered and invigorated. The Firepit is a gathering place that gives guests a comfortable place to relax and socialize.
Activities
Along with the amenities on site, South Lake Tahoe is rich with choice for dining, shopping, outdoor sports, and activities for all ages.
