Reservation Windows & Cancellation Policy

Reservation Window Changes
After gathering feedback from our Club Members, we heard that you wanted a more flexible yet simpler reservation window. Now, instead of having three booking windows dependent on your length of stay, you will only have two if you fall into the Member (with an advance opportunity*) or Select benefit level, or one if you are Executive, Presidential or Chairman's Club benefit level.

New Window As of 15 December 2016 the Member benefit level can make a reservation up to: 12 months before check-in or 13 months with payment of a point premium* 10 months before check-in for 1 or more nights

Reservation Window for Select benefit level

Current Window Able to make a reservation up to: 365 days before check-in 180 days before check-in 90 days before check-in
New Window As of 15 December 2016 the Select benefit level can make a reservation up to: 13 months before check-in 10 months before check-in for 1 or more nights

Current Window Able to make a reservation up to: 395 days before check-in
New Window As of 15 December 2016 Members with Executive, Presidential, or Chairman's Club benefit levels can make a reservation up to: 13 months for 1 or more nights

Cancellation Policy Changes
Booking and cancellation windows vary greatly around the world. Every day we host guests from different locations; therefore, it is important to have a consistent global cancellation policy. As a world leader in hospitality, we know that from time to time, unexpected events happen causing you to change your holiday plans. On these occasions, we want to ensure that you have peace of mind that if you need to cancel your plans, you will not necessarily lose your Club Points with the introduction of a Holding Account. We look forward to seeing you on your next holiday!

The new cancellation policy for new reservations made on or after 15 December 2016 will be:

Cancellation/Change Policy for Marriott Vacation Club® Resorts reservations made on or after 15 December 2016*
Number of days cancellation/change made before arrival 61 days or more 60 days to 1 day A cancellation or modification to shorten the stay made on or after the first day of a Use Period (arrival date) A modification made prior to the first day of a Use Period that results in a shorter duration than would have been permitted at the time the reservation was made
Refund 100% refund of Club Points (however Club Points paid as a premium for an Advance Priority Reservation will be transferred to the Club Member's Holding Account) 100% refund of Club Points with the Club Points transferred into the Club Member's Holding Account (Club Points paid as a premium for an Advance Priority Reservation will be forfeited) No refund of Club Points used for the reservation (if cancelled) or of Club Points attributed to the day(s) that are eliminated (if shortened) 100% refund of the Club Points related to the modification with those Club Points transferred into the Club Member’s Holding Account

Holding Account
Club Points in a Holding Account need to be used before the expiration of their usage year, otherwise, they expire. Club Points in a Holding Account can be used for the following as long as travel is within 60 days of reservation:

  • Reservations at Marriott Vacation Club Resort properties and Luxury Property locations
  • Explorer Collection reservations

Club Points in Holding Accounts cannot be banked, borrowed, transferred or traded for Marriott Rewards® Points or used for an exchange credit or pending request with Interval International.
