Dear Owners and Guests,

We look forward to welcoming you for your upcoming vacation at Marriott's Waikoloa Ocean Club. Before your departure, we wanted to make you aware that the resort's management team is monitoring advisories that may be issued by state and local emergency service agencies in connection with the recent Kilauea volcanic, and related earthquake, activity. At this time, the impact from the volcanic activity is limited to the opposite side of the island, which is over 50 miles point-to-point from Marriott's Waikoloa Ocean Club.

Kilauea has been an active volcano since 1983 and Hawaii Volcanoes National Park is one of Hawaii's most popular attractions, with residents and visitors drawn to the wonder of seeing nature at work in the creation of new land.

For the latest alerts on the volcanic activity on the island of Hawaii, you may check the County of Hawaii Civil Defense Agency website at http://www.hawaiicounty.gov/active-alerts. Additional information may be found by contacting the following:
  • Hawaii Visitors and Convention Bureau at 1-800-GOHAWAII (1-800-464-2924)
  • U.S. Geological Survey – Hawaiian Volcano Observatory – 808-967-8862 or http://hvo.wr.usgs.gov.
