Dear Owners and Guests,

The last several months have been filled with hard work and great accomplishments following Hurricanes Irma and Maria. We know you are excited to return to the beautiful Marriott's Frenchman's Cove, and we are equally enthusiastic to welcome you back.

The recovery process has been long and difficult. Island resorts often pose their own unique challenges due to their isolation from the mainland, however these were significantly compounded after the hurricanes landed. We have been striving to have the property restored to pre-storm conditions prior to welcoming our first guests back, but because of continued delays in shipping that have impeded contractor efforts, work continues on the property. In order to help you make the best vacation decision for your family based on current island conditions, we wanted to share with you what you can expect when coming to Marriott's Frenchman's Cove in early April.

At this time, we anticipate that resort amenities available will include the swimming pool, Marketplace, check-in services, kids' activities center and the pool-bar and grill. Because we have not received our permit to bring new sand onto the resort, the beach will not look like it did before. While you will be able to gain access to the water, you will not have the same "sand under your feet" experience. There may be temporary lighting around the property, as the permanent lighting is on the way. The passenger elevator that brings guests from the front of Building 1 to and from the pool has not yet been replaced. Therefore, a temporary solution has been created utilizing the service elevator with the stairs as a secondary option. Also, you will see some construction activity occurring around the property including façade painting and elevator repair. Our resort team is committed to minimizing the impact of these recovery efforts on your stay, but we want you to be fully aware that they will be present.

Lastly, the Frenchman's Reef & Morning Star Marriott Beach Resort is not excepted to reopen until 2019 and therefore access to its restaurants and amenities will not be an option for your enjoyment.

St. Thomas continues to go through a lengthy recovery process. Many restaurants and shops have reopened for business and much of the island's foliage has made an incredible recovery. Sand and palm trees have been brought to Magen's Bay, which will allow for a lovely beach experience. Multiple agencies and organizations have come together to restore St. Thomas, and progress updates are posted regularly by local officials. Visit http://informusvi.com/ for the latest information regarding island infrastructure progress, local business updates, airport status and electric power restoration.

We want you to have detailed information so that you can make the best decision for your travel plans and we look forward to welcoming you back soon!
